Taking advantage of flotation tests and density functional theory (DFT), the selectivity of benzyl hydroxamic acid (BHA) and the adsorption mechanism of oleate and BHA on ilmenite were systematically investigated. The flotation tests showed that BHA had good selectivity to ilmenite.
